WOW! Less than a month until this year’s MS Walk - May 30th!! As many of you know, the MS Walk is very important to me, whether I am able to do the Walk or not. It is a time for me to thank formally all those near & dear to me for all the support that you give me every other day of the year – thank you!!! It is also a time for me to recognize all those courageous ones who live with MS!!! I feel very fortunate & privileged in many ways, as I know that some of those who live with MS, do not have the support & the health that I have!!
I started 2021 determined to keep myself well as I’m over 65 now - I don’t feel it but I am over 65....
2020 & 2021 have been hard for me. My dear Mom, Jessie, has been struggling with many health issues & as many of you know, Mom passed away on May 5th.... I miss her terribly.... Knowing it was close to the end has not made it any easier... Mom has been one of my biggest supports over the years, having walked the London MS Walk many, many times!! Thank you to my sister, Julia, who has been there with Mom over the last month, supporting both Mom & I from afar!! Thank you!!
Carm & our family continue to be amazing supports for me as well - they help me keep moving & thinking every day!! Thank you to them!
My Mazatlán family have also been a huge support, especially this year as I struggled with being so far away from my Mom & the rest of my family. Thank you!!!
I am active every day, beautiful warm weather & walking for kilometres along the malecon/sea wall in Mazatlán helps. I intend to keep the walking up on our treadmill and around our neighborhood when I get home & off quarantine. Playing with our precious granddaughter, Akira & grandson, Theo are high on my list when I get back - my favourite active pastime, even if it has to be at a distance for the next while!!! Being with Carm & having the energy to be able to do things together, to be BE together, is the highest priority for me!!
Please help me make this year’s MS Walk as successful as last year’s!! I have chosen to keep my Team's name as “Marlene’s MS Posse”. it feels like we are all working together to keep this MS in check!! Please consider joining my Team or if that does not work for you this year, please sponsor me so we can help those who are not as fortunate as me. Thank you!!!
I am doing this year's Walk in my Mom, Jessie Pfaff's, honour!
