Canadians have one of the highest rates of MS in the world, and on average, 11 Canadians are diagnosed with this unpredictable illness every day. We don’t know what causes MS, and we don’t have a cure. Yet.
I am participating in the MS Walk because it has been 7 1/2 years since I was diagnosed with PPMS (Primary Progressive MS) In that time a new treatment has become available for those with PPMS. Ocrevus is an infusion drug that is given twice a year and is the only drug available that has shown any positive results for those of us living with PPMS. I have received 7 infusions to date and my disease seems to have plateaued.
This will be the 7th year that a group of friends and family have walked with me or for me as part of Debbie's Team. For 5 of those years we were able to walk together ...last year we weren't able to be together but we walked all the same. In that time my team has raised more then $23,000.00 from generous donations like yours.
I am hoping that you will support me again this year by making a donation to my fundraising efforts or by joining my team and walking with me virtually if need be on May 30th 2021.
Together we will find better treatments or even a cure!
Thank you for supporting the MS Walk community. We wouldn’t be where we are today without your support.
