Why I’m walking to end MS
Canada has the highest rate of MS in the world. Every day three more Canadians are diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, an unpredictable illness that affects vision, balance, memory and mobility. We don’t know what causes MS and there is no cure.
Your support means Canadian families who are affected by this disease do not have to face MS alone. Support for families like mine.
My Connection to MS
On May 30, I will be walking in support of my mom, Adriana who was diagnosed with MS in 1999 as well as the estimated 90000 other Canadians who are living with MS.
My mom was the first person I ever knew with MS (surprising since the rate of MS is so high in Canada).
As a family we have been participating in the MS Walks and MS Bike events to support the world’s leading researchers discover the cause, treatments and cure for MS.
In August 2019, my brother rode 80K to support this cause near and dear to my family's heart. Now, the Young and the Breathless are joining as a team and community to fight to end Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
The Young and the Breathless is joining together on May 30 to walk 10K to show our neighbours that they aren’t alone in their fight against multiple sclerosis. Canada may have one of the highest rates of MS in the world, but it also has one community made up of us and tens of thousands of others all walking forward together toward a world free of MS.
By making a donation to my fundraising goal, you are supporting research to find the cause, better treatments, and ultimately a cure for MS to those affected with this unpredictable disease. Any donation amount you can offer will be greatly appreciated!
On May 30, follow our journey at @KCarboneEDU (Twitter).
Thank you for your help and support. Together we will make a difference!
