Hello to all my Friends and Family,
As some of you know, but alot probably don't, our son Matt was diagnosed with MS in 2019. My wife, Marlene and daughter, Amanda signed up a team for the MS walk to help fund research to hopefully find a cure someday.
I have joined the team to do the walk to raise money for research.
Any and all contributions to Team 211 will help in the fight to find a cure!

Canadians have one of the highest rates of MS in the world, and on average, 11 Canadians are diagnosed with this unpredictable illness every day. We don’t know what causes MS, and we don’t have a cure. Yet.
As most of you know our lives changed in 2019! We knew very little about MS but that quickly changed. Matt, who has always been healthy and active became chronically ill in the span of about 3 weeks. He had numbness in his hands and feet, could barely walk, lost all balance, lost sight in one eye and was completely exhausted. This began our journey, which would eventually be our MS Journey.
The onset of Matt’s symptoms began at the end of February and on May 10, 2019 his world changed – a diagnosis of very aggressive Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis. We would all very quickly learn about MS. Matt’s treatment plan started immediately, with a newly approved drug in Canada, Ocrevus. The back-up treatment plan is the Stem Cell Transplant program in Ottawa. Both these treatments have been made possible through research.
Matt is doing amazingly well! He has a wonderful medical team, and the love and support of his family and friends. And let’s not forget the prayers from so many!
Team 211 is named after Matt’s racing number! This is the biggest race of all time. I know that Matt will win the race! He is strong, brave and determined.
We’re participating in MS Walk because we want to support Matt and our friends, family members, neighbours and co-workers who are affected by MS. Our team goal is $2500.00, to represent that Matt is 25 years young!
Join our team as we challenge MS and help empower more people affected by the disease to live their best lives.
If you are unable to join us at MS Walk, donate to our team’s fundraising today. Your donation will help continue to fund leading-edge research and support programs that improve the quality of life for people affected by MS.
When you make a donation to Team 211, you are helping continue this incredible work!
Love Marlene and Amanda xo
