This is a very special charity for me and my participation in this fundraiser is personal. My friend Karen Miller and I grew up together from a young age experiencing life together. We even tried to coach a T-ball team which was both fun and funny considering I wasn't the most "sporty" of people.
Karen has the most incredible daughter, Hannah who I have more recently had the chance to get to know better when she helped me with a pre-Covid summer camp where the kids wrote their own show and the lead character was deaf. Hannah was born deaf and yet never let that stop her and although she has lived many years with the cochlear implant, she was able to come and help the kids learn their lines in sign language and made some instant fans doing so.
Hannah has recently been diagnosed with MS and just like everything else in her life, she has taken it like a champ with such courage and grace.
To honor Hannah, Karen and all those affected by MS, a group of young kids are putting on a benefit concert to raise money in Hannah's name. A link to the live concert which will stream on YouTube on Friday, May 28th, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. will be provided to anyone who donates.
The kids performing have been working on this concert for weeks and are so excited to be participating in such an amazing event honoring such an amazing person. We even have film and TV star, Noah Danby hosting the event.
Canadians have one of the highest rates of MS in the world, and on average, 11 Canadians are diagnosed with this unpredictable illness every day. We don’t know what causes MS, and we don’t have a cure. Yet.
Your donations will support the world’s leading researchers discover the cause, treatments and cure for MS. Leading-edge research and support programs have improved the quality of life for people affected by MS.
When you make a donation to my fundraising, you are helping continue this incredible work.
We can all make an impact and enjoy the incredible talents of these young performers at the same time! Thank you in advance for your support!
