Judy's Jewels has been participating in the MS Walk St. Catharines for 19 years. My name is Judy, I was diagnosed in 2002 with MS and its been part of my life since then. I have remitting relapsing MS which comes in a form of never knowing when its going to come and affect my daily life. For me personally, the episodes present as numbness from the waist down to my toes and last for two to three months each time before it slowly dissipates. The thing about MS is everyone is different and has different stages and types. My goal is there will be a cure for MS. I have met so many people because of my MS, this is the positive thing, made some wonderful friends and gained knowledge about this disease. My team this year isn't as large due to the pandemic but I am thrilled at every single dollar raised in the fight. My family and friends I adore and everyone has been so supportive. My family doctor and my neurologist work as a team to work through things that come up. I am so blessed to have these doctors helping me.
Thank you to all the teams here in St. Catharines/Thorold and the wonderful donors that give to help this battle. Best Wishes to everyone!!
Canadians have one of the highest rates of MS in the world and, on average, 11 Canadians are diagnosed with this unpredictable disease every day. We don’t know what causes MS, and we don’t have a cure. Yet.
We’re participating in MS Walk because we want to support our friends, family members, neighbours and co-workers who are affected by MS.
Join our team as we challenge MS and help empower more people affected by the disease to live their best lives.
If you are unable to join us at MS Walk, donate to our team’s fundraising today. Your donation will help continue to fund leading-edge research and support programs that improve the quality of life for people affected by MS.
