New MS Curl for a Cure Bonspiel
In 2018, with the help of my wonderul wife Darlene, we organized our fifth annual Curling Bonspiel to raise funds to support the MS Walk. We managed to again, raise over $6500 had another wonderful Bonspiel. Thanks to ALL who donated their time and effort and to the teams who signed up. I think a great time was had by all.
Now in 2019, we are doing it again and hope to raise $7000 on Saturday, March 16, 2019. Come out and enjoy some curling, either put in a team or just come watch and support the cause.
A future without MS
I've registered for the MS Walk because I want to do something for everyone who lives with multiple sclerosis. The MS Society is the only national voluntary organization in Canada that supports both MS research and services, and the MS Walk has been a critical part of the MS Society's fundraising efforts for over 20 years. Proceeds from this event and others like it provide support and services to help those living with this disease, their families and caregivers. They also fund research with three primary goals: to find a cause and cure for MS, repair nervous system damage caused by MS and stop MS attacks. By supporting me, you too can make a difference in the life of someone with multiple sclerosis.
I am part of the MS Walk because I believe we will end multiple sclerosis - with your help we can get there. Please give generously.
My life with MS
I can tell you, that it can be very hard to mentally cope with MS sometimes. It has had me concerned for my ability to cognitively do my job on an ongoing basis, day in and day out. It can be frustrating that my life has changed. I try to be my upbeat self, but it can be a real drain mentally sometimes, I just don't really show that outside of my home.
I have a tremendous family who support me. A wonderful wife and two glorious kids. Not to mention friends and family who are great as well!! It's support like this that makes it easier to deal with adversity.
So, thanks SO much to all. It is an honour knowing everyone, and hope to see you at the walk.
