Dear Family and Friends,
I have just registered as a participant in two Multiple Myeloma Marches. The fundraising goal for the 22 Marches occurring across Canada is to raise $550,000 for research and the development of clinical trials. Myeloma Canada also plays a significant role in advocating for accelerated access to much needed chemo therapies. On average it takes three years for a myeloma drug to reach the patient. Given myeloma patients are living for a longer time, it is of the essence for researchers to develop new treatments as quickly as possible. To learn more about Myeloma Canada and these important initiatives visit www.myeloma.ca.
On Sunday, September 15th., I will sit at a table at the Hamilton Myeloma March to promote the Halton-Peel Myeloma Support Group and on Sunday, September 22nd, I will tie up my running shoes to walk 1km at the Mississauga March. My goal is to raise $1,000 dollars and no amount is too little. Myeloma Canada will issue a tax receipt for donations made greater than $20.00. Go to myelomacanada.ca or myelomamarch.ca. click on the donate button and type in my name. If you wish to mail in a donation: make all checks payable to Myeloma Canada and please put my name and Multiple Myeloma March in memo field. Mail to 1255 TransCanada swy, suite 160, Dorval, QC, H9P 2V4.
I am proud to say I have surpassed the seven year mark this past July 2019. I do find the journey is getting tougher both physically and mentally. Enduring the constant side effects with a smile on your face is not as easy at it used to be.
Please join me in raising money for a great cause that is dear to me by sponsoring my campaign. Your donation will make a big impact on improving the lives of all myeloma patients living in Canada.
Thank you in advance for your generosity. With your support we can make myeloma matter!.
Best and blessings,
Chair, Halton-Peel Myeloma Support Group
