Although this year's Multiple Myeloma March looks different than those I've walked in since my initial cancer diagnosis in 2014, I am even more committed to participating in 2020! My myeloma remission came to an end late last year. I 've been in active treatment since early January and will undergo a second stem cell transplant sometime this month (September 2020).
In light of COVID-19, the format of the 2020 Multiple Myelpma March has been modified. Instead of one large in-person March, participants are encouraged to host personal events and join Myeloma Canada for their Facebook Live virtual Kick-off Sunday, September 20th. Knowing my transplant date might conflict with this year's event, I've been tracking my walks since registering for the March, with a goal of raising $1.00 for every kilometer I walk from June 1st until my hospital admission date. I've now completed over 420 KMs and I'm determined to reach 500 KM in support of Myeloma Canada's most important annual fundraising event!
By making a donation, you are helping to fund clinical research and to support advocacy for accelerated access to game-changing therapies for Canadian myeloma patients like me. Any support you're able to provide would be very much appreciated!
I'm at 520.5 km of 750 km.
