Name: Tell Your Elected Officials that You Care about Animals
In addition to taking action on individual pieces of
legislation, it is important to let your elected officials know where you stand
on animal welfare and protection issues. Legislators are elected to represent
their constituents, so tell them that you care about animals, their welfare,
and their treatment inside and outside of the laboratory.
Call to Actions:
If you take action and have not already registered, you will receive periodic updates and communications from National Anti-Vivisection Society.
Please Consider Animal Welfare in Making Legislative Decisions
Dear [Decision Maker],
I am writing to let you know that as your constituent and a voter, I care about animals--and I hope that you do too. When there is legislation under review that affects animal issues, I hope that you too will take into consideration the following:--Animals are sentient creatures capable of suffering and that we should and must do all we can to minimize that in every way we use them.--We have an obligation to ensure that animals are treated humanely however we use them; and--It is in the best interests of human and non-human animals to use up-to-date, cost effective and predictive alternatives instead of using animals for research, testing and education; As a constituent and a voter, passing humane legislation and opposing the passage of laws that increase animal suffering is important to me, and hopefully to the people I elect to office.Thank you for your consideration. I hope that 2018 will be a humane legislative year.
Sincerely,[Your Name] [Your Address] [City, State ZIP]
