The Santa Cruz Biotechnology
(SCBT) animal research facility has too long a history of alleged and actual
Animal Welfare Act (AWA) violations resulting in needless additional pain for
animals already suffering in labs. NEAVS and our supporters have for years
consistently called on the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA),
charged with enforcing the AWA, to revoke the lab’s license. But business
continues as usual. Learn
the USDA is finally threatening to suspend
or revoke SCBT’s dealer license. We have another chance to
make our voices heard and to help these animals.
What You Can Do
Email U.S. Department of Agriculture
Secretary Tom Vilsack today and ask the USDA to revoke SCBT’s license for its
unacceptable and inhumane practices, and to impose the maximum fine.
Revoke Santa Cruz Biotechnology's license for repeated Animal Welfare Act violations
Dear [Decision Maker],
I appreciate the dedication of the USDA in inspecting Santa Cruz Biotechnology and identifying violations of the Animal Welfare Act. The sheer number as well as the seriousness of these incidents are unacceptable. Real consequences for SCBT's blatant disregard for animal suffering as well as their disrespect for the USDA and federal law are long overdue.
