The Sergeant Sullivan Fund is named for Marine Sergeant Thomas Joseph Sullivan, who died from deployment-related illness at the age of 30. Tom left for Iraq in 2004 in perfect health. Over four years of service, he developed asthma, sleep apnea, heart disease and other conditions. He died in 2009, leaving behind a wife and a then 3-year-old daughter.
Today, the Sergeant Sullivan Fund is dedicated to supporting the Center of Excellence on Deployment-Related Lung Disease at National Jewish Health, which is leading life-saving research and providing care for men and women returning from military service overseas who are struggling to breathe.
Join us in supporting these returning heroes. Your donation will help accelerate the pace of discovery to solve the mysteries of deployment-related lung disease.
