Multiple Sclerosis robs people of the ability to move easily, whether from one place to another, one thought to another, or to move ahead with their life as they once expected. You have an opportunity to be an activist and join forces with the millions of people affected by MS throughout the USWhat will you do to Join the Movement?

MS stops people from moving.

We exist to make sure it doesn't.

The Georgia Chapter helps the thousands of Georgians impacted by MS continue to move their lives forward.  We provide comprehensive support services and educational programs, and raise funds locally to support the Society’s research initiatives.  A volunteer Board of Trustees governs the chapter, establishes policies for its operation, leads fundraising efforts, and oversees service and volunteer activities. The chapter has over 15 full- and part- time staff and works with thousands of volunteers throughout the year.

 Mission Statement

The mission of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society - Georgia Chapter is to create a world free of MS.

Vision Statement

The vision of the National MS Society - Georgia Chapter is that people with MS and their families will live their lives to the fullest capability for the enrichment of society and for their own personal fulfillment.

Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) interrupts the flow of information from the brain to the body and stops people from moving.  Every hour in the United States, someone is newly diagnosed with MS, an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system.  Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis.  The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a world free of MS.  Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with more than twice as many women as men contracting the disease.  MS affects over 400,000 people in the United States and 2.5 million people worldwide.

Why You Should Get On and Stay On MS Drug Therapy
Scientific evidence shows that these therapies have the ability to decrease the number of attacks a person with relapsing MS would expect to have over time. As a result, these medications are thought to slow down the development of MS disability. Learn More
