Promising Treatments for MS
Studies show that early and ongoing treatment with an FDA-approved therapy can reduce future disease activity and improve quality of life for many people with multiple sclerosis. Talk to your health care professional and contact the National MS Society at main.nationalmssociety.org or 1-800-344-4867 to learn about ways to help manage multiple sclerosis and about current research that may one day reveal a cure.
Why You Should Get On and Stay On MS Drug Therapy
Scientific evidence shows that these therapies have the ability to decrease the number of attacks a person with relapsing MS would expect to have over time. As a result, these medications are thought to slow down the development of MS disability.
Have you recently been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis? People often feel overwhelmed and confused after diagnosis. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society has many resources to help guide you to a better understanding of life with MS.
There are many Self-Help Groups throughout the Lone Star Chapter. These groups offer opportunities to make new friends and share with others how you experience life with MS. View the Self Help Group List.
