3-Day Facebook App Tutorial

Follow the steps below to begin fundraising with the 3-Day Facebook App. For additional help, please see the FAQs page.

1. Register Online for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day®

The app is only available to Komen 3-Day participants. You can register online for the 3-Day®.

2. Click on "fundraise with facebook"

You can find your personalized 3-Day Facebook App link on the 3-Day registration thank you page, on your 3-Day Participant Center homepage or the Widgets page.

When clicked, you will be taken through the following steps in Facebook. You will need to log into Facebook if you are not already logged in. If you do not have a Facebook account, you will need to register with Facebook before you can install the app and start fundraising.

3. Access the Susan G. Komen 3-Day App

Allow the app to access your public profile and post to Facebook for you. This step is necessary for the app to update your fundraising progress and make sure your posts are visible to your Facebook friends.

Click Okay on the first popup window to allow public profile access. You can review the information provided by clicking the link on the window. If you cancel this step, the app will not be installed.

Note: This step and all functionality of the app can only be access on the website (desktop) version of Facebook. It is not compatible with the Facebook mobile app.

Click Okay on the second pop-up window to allow the app to post to Facebook for you. You can modify who will be able to see the posts by changing the selection in the drop-down box on the screen. If you click Not Now, the app will be installed but the Schedule Messages functionality will be disabled.

Make sure you have used the correct link to access the app. Verify that the name you used to register for the 3-Day is displayed in the dialog box. If it is incorrect, you will need to click 'No' and then find your personalized app link in the thank you email you received after registration or on your 3-Day Participant Center homepage.

4. Share Now!

You can share a custom message any time by selecting a message on the Share Now tab. You can add your own comments or story to any message.

To access the app from Facebook, go to https://apps.facebook.com/komenfbthreedayapp/?ref=br_rs (while logged in to Facebook). Or follow the steps below:

1. Enter 'Susan G. Komen 3-Day' in the Search box.

2. Select the 'Apps' tab, or scroll down until you find the Susan G. Komen 3-Day app.

3. Click 'Use Now.'

5. Make a Self-Donation

Jump-start your fundraising by making a personal donation! Click on the 'Make a self-donation' link to be taken to your personal fundraising page where you can donate.

5. Thank Your Donors

Under the Thank Your Donors tab, you will have the ability to thank an individual donor or all donors. The listbox will display your donations in the order in which they were received. The most recent donation will appear at the top of the list. You will have the ability to sort by amount or name.

How to thank an individual donor on your Facebook newsfeed:

  1. Click the Thank Your Donors tab.
  2. Click the facebook icon small  icon to the right of the donor’s name. 
  3. The application will display a preview of the thank you message. You will have the ability to add a comment. We suggest tagging your friend in the message so they are sure to see it. 
  4. Click the Share button. 
  5. The message will post to your newsfeed and the Thank Your Donors screen will appear.
  6. The donor name will not be bold. This indicates that the individual donor has been thanked. 

How to thank an individual donor via email:

  1. Click the Thank Your Donors tab.
  2. Click the envelope icon  icon to the right of the donor’s name.
  3. The application will launch an email message that contains the donor’s email address, subject, and thank you message. You will have the ability to modify the email content. 
  4. Click the Send button.
  5. The Thank Your Donors screen will appear and the donor’s name will remain bold. Donor names that are bold indicate that the donor has not been thanked individually via the facebook icon small icon.

How to thank all donors on your Facebook newsfeed:

  1. Click the Thank Your Donors tab.
  2. Click the Thank all donors tab button. 
  3. The application will display a preview of the thank you message. You will have the ability to add a comment. 
  4. Click the Share button. 
  5. The message will post to your newsfeed and the Thank Your Donors screen will appear.
  6. The donor names will remain bold. Donor names that are bold indicate that the donor has not been thanked individually via the facebook icon small icon.
