Something to Bark About
This Mother's Day give mom a gift that makes a difference. With the help of some of our corporate partners, we've put together some thoughtful gift ideas for Mom and all the animal lovers in your life, the proceeds of which help us rescue, nurture and adopt out more animals each year.
Join fellow animal lovers for a memorable evening to support and celebrate North Shore Animal League America’s 80 years of lifesaving work! A cocktail hour on the Tribeca 360 Rooftop kicks off the festivities, where you’ll take in the sunset and spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline and the Hudson River. Dinner continues inside with unforgettable food, a silent auction and noteworthy entertainment. This inspiring milestone event is not-to-be-missed!
The best things about volunteering happen in the quiet moments when you do something for someone and realize without being thanked or recognized that what you did made life a little sweeter, easier, and safer for another. Sometimes volunteers save lives; sometimes they enrich lives. But honestly, whatever you give is nothing compared to the satisfaction and sense of purpose you receive in return.
Earlier this year our Pet Health Centers team jumped into action to help Kira, a 9-month-old English Bulldog mix who was surrendered to us in significant distress. We catch up with young Kira who, after recovering with one of our dedicated foster families, is now happily at home with a new family complete with a loveable canine brother to show her the ropes.
Spring is here and we're all looking forward to more play time outside. And, as always, with the warm weather come fleas, ticks, and mosquitos. These critters have the potential to cause serious harm to our furry companions and it is important to be aware of all the potential dangers.
