Minimally Invasive Gynecology Research
Our Run for a Reason team is raising money to ensure patients have access to world-class care and that research at The Ottawa Hospital & Ottawa Hospital Research Institute continues to break down barriers.
Endometriosis, uterine fibroids and chronic pain are conditions that affect a significant number of women across Canada. Our Minimally Invasive Gynecology Research Team has focused on these common conditions for the last 10 years and as a result we have helped improve care locally and internationally.
Even though many individuals struggle with benign gynecologic conditions, the support for research in this field is limited. Up to 10% of girls and women struggle with endometriosis related symptoms and up to 80% of women have uterine fibroids. Despite these startling statistics, awareness and research is far behind where it should be. We want to change this by increasing our research capacity and awareness campaigns.
This year we have a generous donor who will match up to $15 000 in funding so our team goal is a total of $30 000!
By joining our team on May 25 & 26 or making a donation, together we’ll reach our fundraising goal. Together we’ll cross the finish line at Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend knowing we’re having an impact.
Just imagine the future!
