Welcome to My Personal Page
One in Two of us will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in our lives. That is 50% of us! It is 100% for ME. I was diagnosed in 2012 with stage 4 colon cancer. Its been a long seven years--six months of chemo, seven major surgeries, and most recently SBRT radiation. But I feel great and I am thriving. I owe this, in part, to TOH!
The Ottawa Hospital is home to so many skilled researchers. Oncologitic virus researcher Dr. J Bell for example, who is leading the world in this new area of cancer treatments. And, I recently learned, that TOH was an early adopter of SBRT (Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy). This "new" radiation therapy is super targeted, far more intense, and way less damaging to surrounding tissue.
On September 8, 2019, I'll DO THE RIDE and pedal across the finish line in support of research at The Ottawa Hospital. Chances are, if cancer has affected you, there is a researcher at The Ottawa Hospital who is trying to better understand it, treat it and even eradicate it.

Then, I’ll DO THE RIDE!
