Strong like Stella
Stella was only 3 weeks old when she had her first stay at PCH. The care and dedication from every doctor and nurse that walked into our room blew us away. At a month old, Stella was quickly diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1. Receiving this diagnosis was terrifying as a first time parent, but we were so supported by PCH. Ill never forget the time our nurses took with Stella, the hug from her anesthesiologist and doctor in IR when her PICC line was placed, the smile on our neurologists face when we saw the first sign of improvement or the CCBD nurses who cheered us on during her infusion. Thanks to our amazing neurology team, she was the first baby in Arizona to receive a groundbreaking gene therapy and is making strides in progress everyday. Since treatment, she goes to the hospital regularly for doctors appointments and blood draws. Please help us support Phoenix Children's Hospital and their efforts to provide the very best care for the kids all over Arizona.
