SDC is a proud sponsor of Ignite Hope and Phoenix Children's Hospital.
The 9th Annual Ignite Hope will virtually take place on Saturday, December 12, 2020. Inspired by a 15-year-old patient named Katie whose friends held a candlelight vigil outside her window as she underwent aggressive cancer treatment, Ignite Hope has become a Valley holiday tradition to bring hope and healing to those in the hospital this time of year.
Traditionally the 1.1 mile walk is led by the Phoenix Fire Department and the top-fundraising team(s). After being serenaded by holiday carolers along the route, walkers are greeted at the hospital by patients waiving candles from their windows, followed by an inspirational program and the lighting of PCH's Christmas tree to end the evening.
This year the event is going virtual. Join the virtual program on December 12 starting at 6pm. This is a chance for you to see how your support ignites hope for doctors, nurses, medical specialists—and most importantly, the patients and their families. A link to the virtual program will be sent to you via email (if you are registered) ahead of the event.
The holidays can be one of the most difficult times of the year for families to spend in the hospital, but through Ignite Hope they are reminded that they are not fighting alone. Please join us at Ignite Hope this year or donate to our team in support of the patients and their families this holiday season. All donations will benefit the Hospital's Hope Fund, which helps launch critical new programs, purchase essential equipment, conduct cutting-edge research, and provide charitable care and the child-friendly programs and services that make the hospital environment more comfortable for the patients.
