Donate To Veterans & VA Employees Affected By Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria

As a result of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and now Maria, many people residing throughout Texas, Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands have lost their possessions, been displaced from their homes, and in some cases even had their homes completely destroyed.

On September 1, 2017, the Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs, David Shulkin, authorized the special solicitation at VA, to support those VA employees and veterans in need of temporary lodging, having home repairs not covered by insurance, or having other extreme hardship expenses as a result of Hurricane Harvey. On September 12, the Secretary authorized the special solicitation to also support those VA employees and veterans impacted by Hurricane Irma. On September 28, the Secretary extended the special solicitation to also support those VA employees and Veterans impacted by Hurricane Maria.

Fundraising at the Department of Veteran Affairs for those adversely affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria has concluded as of October 13, 2017. However, donations from other individuals and organizations unaffiliated with the VA will continue to be accepted until further notice.

In partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs and the PenFed Foundation, all contributions made in support of this special solicitation should be made to the PenFed Foundation, which will administer the fund, and absorb all administrative cost associated therewith. The PenFed Foundation is a nonprofit organization under IRS Section 501(c)(3) and your donation is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

To facilitate these contributions, you can donate directly through the form below, where you can also designate if your donation should be for those affected by Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma, or Hurricane Maria. To donate to each fund, you can re-submit this form with the appropriate designation you see fit.

Funds already donated as of 2:00PM EST on September 12, 2017 will be used to support those affected by Hurricane Harvey in accordance with the terms established in agreement with the Department of Veterans Affairs and the PenFed Foundation.

Funds already donated as of 6:00PM EST on September 28, 2017, or mailed on or before that date, will be used as designated, or split between Hurricane Harvey and Irma if not otherwise designated.

Thank you for helping your fellow employees and veterans through this tragedy.
