Event FAQ’s

Why Should I register?

Your registration will help provide food, shelter, veterinary care and more to the thousands of animals-domestic, exotic, wiildlife and livestock--who come to the Pasadena Humane Society each year in need of a second chance.

Is my registration fee tax deductible?

The IRS does not consider registration fees for charity walks to be tax deductible, as you are receiving entry to the event, as well as merchandise (bandanna, bib), in exchange for your contribution.

Does my registration fee count towards my fundraising total?

Yes it does! Although your registration fee is not tax deductible as explained in the previous question, it does count toward your overall fundraising total.

This is my first time fundraising -- do you have tips?

Whether you're a newbie to fundraising or have been doing this for several years, you can get tips and ideas to make the most of your efforts by visiting the resources link on the menu bar of our website.

When and where may I pick up my fundraising prizes?

Prizes can be picked up on event day at our Prize Booth. Prize drawings at the $1,000 and $2,500 level will be conducted once all donations are counted and entered. Winners will receive redemption certificates in the mail.

Note: All prizes are awarded based on individual contributions and/or what the individual has raised. Prizes are NOT awarded on what a team has raised, if you are part of a team, or on what a couple has raised, if you are part of a couple.

Only registered participants receive a bandanna and bib. All prizes, including t-shirts, bandannas and bibs, are available while supplies last.

How do I ensure I receive the correct size t-shirt?

We will do our best to ensure you receive your correct size t-shirt if you reach that milestone in fundraising before the event. Please note that prize t-shirts are adult unisex sizes.

Do I need a dog to participate?

No, you don’t need a dog to walk or participate. Just bring your desire to help animals in need.

How many dogs may I bring to the event?

As many as you can handle safely. We ask that all dogs be socialized around children and other dogs, and kept on a 6-foot or shorter leash. No extendable leashes, please. Be sure to pick up after your dogs. Bags and doggy first aid will be available at the event.

May I bring my cat or other pet to the event?

As we have close to 1,000 dogs at the Walk, we ask that you keep your cat and other pets (like pot bellied pigs) at home. However, you might consider walking in honor of these pets or forming a team on their behalf because funds from the event will support ALL animals at the Pasadena Humane Society.

May I bring my children?

Children and strollers are welcome to participate in the event but must be under direct adult supervision at all times. All ages may register for the event but please note that t-shirts are adult unisex sizes.

If I am already registered, may I bring my spouse?

Everyone who wishes to participate in the Walk must register individually. If you are part of a couple, each of you will need to register.

What happens if it rains or it’s really hot the day of the event?

The event will take place rain or shine but we ask that if high temperatures prevail, please leave your dogs at home. The pavement is considerably hotter than the air which can be permanently damaging to your dog’s paws.

Can I volunteer at the Walk?

Absolutely! We welcome volunteers of all ages, but note that if you are under 15-years-old, you must be accompanied by an adult.

To sign up, please email volunteer@pasadenahumane.org and write "Wiggle Waggle Walk" in the subject line.

Is there an ATM onsite?

The nearest ATM is at the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center. We will have change on site for those who register with cash. However we ask that you do not use $100 bills if possible.

Are there restrooms available to use?

Restrooms are located at Brookside Park and may be located on the map.
