Clare Susan Humphrey Memorial Endowment

The Clare Susan Humphrey Memorial Endowment Fund provides support to Melrose Center eating disorder patients and their families in an effort to reduce the economic barriers that prevent successful treatment and access to care.

This fund was established by Alison and Andrew Humphrey in loving memory of their daughter Clare, who died on January 24, 2017 at the age of 26, after a long struggle with eating disorders and depression.

Clare was a shining light with deep intelligence, a wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful smile. Clare had incredible charm and lit up every room she entered.  Her thoughtful and compassionate nature, combined with her big heart, compelled her to advocate for the health and well-being of others. Clare had been a patient at Melrose Center for more than 10 years, and in honor of her extraordinary spirit, Clare’s Fund will help patients and their families access eating disorder services that would be otherwise unavailable because of their economic circumstances.
