I'm running the Springtime Surprise Hakuna Matata 10-miler at Disney World this April 21 (and also the Neverland 5k on Friday April 19) to raise funds and awareness with the Parkinson's Champions, in honor of my Uncle Jim who passed away in 2019 after living with Parkinson's. Uncle Jim was an avid foodie, world traveler, airplane and airport afficionado, collector of wind up toys and so much more--he was not defined by health conditions at all and I always knew him to be determined to enjoy his life as much as possible. I hope the same for anyone else going through this diagnosis.
The Parkinson's Foundation makes life better for people living with Parkinson's disease by improving care and advancing research toward a cure. Studies show that 2.5 hours of weekly exercise along with medication, can significantly improve quality of life for people living with Parkinson's. We run and will continue to run for people with Parkinson's because this disease not a sprint, it’s a marathon. Any small donation is appreciated, thank you for your support!
