I'm ready to run...again.
This will be my second marathon but finishing for the same reason, my Dad, Gerald. Parkinsons sucks. I've seen him battling this disease over the years and each time I leave CT to head back to Oregon it gets harder to say goodbye. I see the toll is takes on him and my mom, who is his caretaker. It affects our whole family. Parkinsons runs in my family, which makes it even harder. I saw my Grandpa battle this as well.
I'm running to raise awareness for this disease. To raise money so that eventually other families don't have to go through what we are. My wife, Kendra will be joining me on this adventure of training and running her first marathon.
The Eugene Marathon. Eugene is known as Track Town USA. The race finishes at Hayward Field where one of the great running legends, Steve PreFontaine ran for the University of Oregon. You can call me PostFontaine.
The Parkinson's Foundation makes life better for people living with Parkinson's disease by improving care and advancing research toward a cure. Studies show that 2.5 hours of weekly exercise along with medication, can significantly improve quality of life for people living with Parkinson's. We run and will continue to run for people with Parkinson's because this disease not a sprint, it’s a marathon. Every dollar counts, thank you for your support!
