In memory of my mother
This year I’m running with my dear friend Sang Lee. We both have found running to be therapeutic and a tool during difficult times Join us in supporting those affected by Parkinson’s.
I first started running in the early days of the pandemic, mostly to stay grounded but also to keep busy. In late 2020, my mom's condition started to deteriorate. Over the next year, running became a way to manage stress and take a break. In October of 2021, my mom's battle with Parkinson's ended and running became a way to deal with the loss. While the disease tried to take so many things that made her unique, she fought until the end. Since then I’ve run the half marathon in Philadelphia in memory of my mother and for those who are affected by Parkinson’s. It’s her determination in the face of a terminal diagnosis that continues to inspire me to run. Please support the Parkinson's Foundation to help others still fighting their battles with Parkinson's.
