On March 17th, I'm running the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon to raise funds and awareness with the Parkinson's Champions. Every dollar raised will go to the Parkinson's Foundation, making life better for people living with Parkinson's disease by improving care and advancing research toward a cure.
I'm running for my dad, who is managing Parkinson's disease with determination, grace, and the unwavering support of his family and friends. My dad is not only an athletic icon (having run two full marathons himself), but he's also a best friend and role model who has been there for me through it all. From teaching me to ski, to coaching me in soccer, to trying to get me to enjoy camping (solid effort...), he is a big part of my adventurous spirit, love for the outdoors, and passion for helping others. With every step I take in training and on race day, I'll be thinking of him and the battle he is fighting every day, but never alone. The love and admiration I have for him is indescribable, and I'm honored to have the opportunity to run in support of him this March.
Parkinson's research has led to promising new treatments and surgeries, and a cure is within reach in years, not decades. Every donation gets us that much closer to the finish line. Thank you for your support!
