It has been just over a year since my mom finished her fight against this awful disease; a fight that she battled for 25 years. Just like she never stopped fighting, it’s been pulling at my heart to keep the fight going in memory of her. Over the past 10 years, I’ve raised over $25,000 for the Parkinson’s Foundation through running with the Parkinson’s Champions team, organizing my own Run2beatPD events, and hosting a bake sale. While it won’t change our situation and doesn’t help me to miss my mom any less, I’m optimistic that these funds will make a difference for others.
I will be running on the Parkinson’s Champions team again in January at Disney World! I'm running to raise funds and awareness with the Parkinson's Champions. I'm challenging myself to run to support the Parkinson’s Foundation.
The Parkinson's Foundation makes life better for people living with Parkinson's disease by improving care and advancing research toward a cure. Studies show that 2.5 hours of weekly exercise along with medication, can significantly improve quality of life for people living with Parkinson's. We run and will continue to run for people with Parkinson's because this disease not a sprint, it’s a marathon. Every dollar counts, thank you for your support!
