I'm so excited to be a 2024 Parkinson's Champion! I'm running the Marine Corps Marathon this October to raise funds and awareness to support the Parkinson’s Foundation.
I understand firsthand how a Parkinson's diagnosis can affect a loved one: my dad was diagnosed in 2023 with Parkinson's. Learning more about the condition and about managing it felt daunting at first, for him and for our family. Fortunately, with a combination of excellent healthcare, physical fitness, nutritional changes, and appropriate medication, my dad manages his condition with ease and enjoys an incredible quality of life. Studies show that 2.5 hours of weekly exercise, along with medication, can significantly improve quality of life for people living with Parkinson's. While our family can only speak to one experience, I have been blown away at the positive effects that strength training and running have had for my dad, both physically and mentally, in managing his symptoms!
Everyone affected by Parkinson's deserves these opportunities to receive care and live life at their fullest. The Parkinson's Foundation makes life better for people living with Parkinson's by improving care and advancing research toward a cure. We run because Parkinson's is not a sprint - it’s a marathon.
Every dollar counts, and I'd be so grateful for your support. You can make your donation in honor or in memory of a loved one living with Parkinson's, or simply support this important cause. Thank you for supporting me as I support the Parkinson's Foundation!
