I am running the New York City Marathon to honor the memory of my grandfather, Jay Wassersug, who bravely fought Parkinson's disease for over eight years. His resilience and spirit throughout his battle inspired me deeply, shaping my perspective on life's challenges and the strength we find in facing them. Participating in this marathon as a member of Parkinson's Champions is not just a tribute to his memory, but also a way to raise awareness and support for those currently battling this relentless disease. It is my way of transforming personal loss into a collective gain for the community affected by Parkinson's, hoping to contribute to the advancements in research and treatment.
2024 NYC Marathon
This marathon represents a personal challenge and a profound commitment to a cause that touched my family directly. Each mile will be a step forward in the fight against this illness, and a step closer to a world without Parkinson's. By supporting Parkinson's Champions, I aim to keep my grandfather's fighting spirit alive, advocating for progress and fostering hope in the hearts of patients and their families around the world.
