I'm running the 2024 New York City marathon to support the Parkinson's Foundation in memory of my Nana, Anna Murphy. She was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2007 and lost her battle in December of 2014. No matter what was going on in her life, my Nana never made excuses and always had a smile on her face. I hope to embody that attitude in all aspects of life, but particularly throughout the 26.2 miles.
My dad and I share a love for running, and enjoy running races together - anywhere from Virginia to the Jersey Shore! I am very excited to have the opportunity to honor my dad's mother doing something that we both love.
If you would like to support those battling Parkinson's disease, please consider donating. The Parkinson's Foundation makes life better for people living with Parkinson's disease by improving care and advancing research toward a cure. We run and will continue to run for people with Parkinson's because the disease is not a sprint, it's a marathon. Thank you for your support!
