I will be running the Philadelphia Half Marathon to honor my Grandmother, Shirley Marcello.

My grandmother was diagnosed with Parkinson's in ​2012, and although we are lucky enough that she is still with us, watching the impact that this disease has had on her inspired me to bring awareness and fundraise for Parkinson's research. 

She is an integral part of my family, and has been living with us since a few years after her diagnosis. My mom is her full-time caretaker, with the help and support of my dad, sister and I. Having the ability to spend so much time with her over the years has truly opened my eyes to the difficulties Parkinson's brings, and I want to help anyone suffering with it.
