We’re ready to run!
Growing up, my (Liz’s) dad was always running, doing marathons and even a few 50-miler ultra marathons. It was a longtime goal of mine to do a marathon like him someday. About 13 years ago, my dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. This is a disease that slowly and steadily takes from you. My dad has carried this heavy burden well over the years, but he is no longer able to run anymore.
Last year, Mack and I trained for and ran our first marathon together. I thought of my dad often throughout the training process and gleaned great advice from him along the way. This year, Mack and I are running the Philadelphia marathon again, but this time we are running in honor of my dad, and are running as charity affiliates with the Parkinson’s Champions to support the Parkinson’s Foundation.
The Parkinson's Foundation makes life better for people living with Parkinson's disease by improving care and advancing research toward a cure.
This year we run for my dad, Michael Levesque. His perseverance despite the challenges he faces due to Parkinson’s disease, is inspiring. His faith in God is unwavering. Mack and I are so proud of him and are honored to run to support the Parkinson’s Foundation. Thank you all for your support!
