On March 16th, I'll be running the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon with the Parkinson’s Champions team in memory of my grandfather, Baldomero J. Llerena, who bravely fought Parkinson’s for 15 years before passing away in 1995.
Our time with him was cut short, but his legacy continues to live on in our family. While 13.1 miles will be a challenge, I’d run (and know many others would) an infinite number of miles if it meant getting time back with him - and loved ones lost too soon.
Please join me in supporting the Parkinson’s Foundation; every gift makes a world of difference. Although there currently is no cure for this debilitating disease, the Parkinson’s Foundation has led transformative breakthroughs through immense research and dedication, and is driving progress toward understanding its causes, improving treatments, and ultimately finding a cure.
It’s an honor and privilege to run with this team and to be part of the movement to end Parkinson’s Disease for good.
Thank you for your love, support, and push to the finish line.
