I'm ready to run.
I'm running to raise funds and awareness with the Parkinson's Champions. I'm challenging myself to run the marathon to support the Parkinson’s Foundation.
I'm running to honor the legacy and life of three great men in my life--my father David Barnes, my late father in law Larry Hurst, and my late grandfather Lloyd Jett. These men blessed my life as positive influences of love, strength, and courage on their path with Parkinson's. I'm also running to honor my mother Sherry Barnes and mother in law Cheryl Hurst as they reflect love, joy, respect, and selfless dedication to my father and father in law, respectively.
My job is easy--all I have to do is run. Those with Parkinson's and their support team face greater challenges every day. I am honored to run for them.
I ask you to join me in the fight against Parkinson's and fight for new treatments and research that will lead to a cure. I ask you to support the Parkinson's Foundation, which makes life better for people living with Parkinson's disease by improving care and advancing research toward a cure.
I run and will continue to run for people with Parkinson's because this disease is not a sprint, it’s a marathon. I look forward to celebrating this marathon success in October! Every dollar counts, thank you for your support!
Kent Barnes (on behalf of the Barnes, Hurst, and Jett families)
