The Moore Movement

Welcome to our Moving Day Team Page,

In the United States, 50,000-60,000 new cases of Parkinson’s disease (PD) are diagnosed each year, adding to the one million people who currently have PD. The Moore Movement was established in honor of a very special guy, Bill Moore, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2015 and has courageously battled the disease for the past several years. The disease has affected his movement in various ways throughout the years, from the classic Parkinsonian shuffle and reduced arm swing to freezing episodes. Parkinson's disease has also contributed to significant changes in his emotions, functional abilities, and severe cognitive decline. Bill has always been known to be a very active guy, from volunteering his time to organizations in which his kids were involved (football, cheer, dance, etc.), working overtime shifts at the steel mill (to fund named activities) to working on cars, doing home repairs, and riding his motorcycle- all activities he absolutely LOVED. Parkinson's disease has taken away his ability to live his life in the way he was accustomed, but he continues to MOVE each day in spite of the challenges the disease poses. For all of these reasons, and to honor the truly fantastic guy he is, The Moore Movement is dedicated to raising awareness about PD and generating funds to support the Parkinson's Foundation and their mission.

The Moore Movement is devoted to raising awareness for Parkinson’s disease because it really is SO important. Many folks with PD- especially advanced PD- cannot advocate for themselves due to non-movement related symptoms. WE as a society need to know more. Learn more. Care more about Parkinson’s disease.

Join our team for the local Parkinson’s Foundation Moving Day walk, the first nationwide grassroots campaign that spotlights the disease on a national level and gives the chance to raise awareness and funds in our own community. Your support will help us continue improving the quality of care for those living with Parkinson’s disease.

To donate or visit a team members personal page please select from the ‘Team Roster’ list at the bottom of the page.

Thank you for supporting us and the vital work of the Parkinson’s Foundation.

Wtih gratitude,

The Moore Movement
