Moving Day San Francisco

Shake, Rattle and Pointe
Our team “Shake, Rattle and Pointe” is made up of the community from the Dance Class for People with Parkinson's (and their partners, family members and care partners) at San Francisco Ballet. it is free of charge on Zoom and at SF Ballet's Studio. The class is sponsored by The Parkinson's Foundation, Kaiser Foundation and private Donors, and is taught by Cecelia Beam. These classes are designed to honor PD specific concerns such as balance, flexibility, coordination, isolation and depression. Classes can be done in a chair or standing and always have live music. We are walking in the Parkinson’s Foundation Moving Day walk, the first nationwide grassroots campaign that spotlights the disease on a national level and gives the chance to raise awareness and funds in our own community. In the United States, 50,000-60,000 new cases of Parkinson’s disease (PD) are diagnosed each year, adding to the one million people who currently have PD. Your support will help us continue improving the quality of care for those living with Parkinson’s disease.
