We are Michelle and Gordon Butler, and this team is in honor of our father Donald Butler, who passed away on April 15th, 2020 after a long battle with Parkinson's. Our family wasn't able to have a celebration of his life due to COVID, so we thought this would be a fun activity to honor him and bring together a dynamic group of people! Dad had quite the appetite for fast cars and motorcycles, and thus we arrived at the team name of V8 Cobras.
Dad's own father, our grandfather Robert Butler, also had Parkinson's, so our family has been deeply impacted by this disease. In the United States, 50,000-60,000 new cases of Parkinson's disease (PD) are diagnosed each year, adding to the one million people who currently have PD. So we are just one family amongst a million, and want to do whatever we can to help.
Join our team for the virtual Parkinson's Foundation Moving Day walk, the first nationwide grassroots campaign that spotlights the disease on a national level and gives the chance to raise awareness and funds in our own community. Your support will help us continue improving the quality of care for those living with Parkinson's disease.
**THIS WILL BE A VIRTUAL WALK!! You will be able to participate from anywhere, so please join us!!**
