Welcome to My Personal Page

I am participating in Moving Day® Buffalo, benefiting the Parkinson's Foundation.
The event will be a fun-filled, family-friendly event for all ages and abilities. We will be able to enjoy a variety of movement activities like yoga, dance, Pilates, Tai Chi, boxing, stretching and much more and celebrate the importance of movement in our lives.
Parkinsons Disease is very familiar to me. I first learned about this disease during my grade school time, that's when I found out my great aunt was afflicted. She would take off without a break. There were no medications available at that time
Fast forward, I was married to a surgeon in England, who was a very competent one with several hobbies as philately, wine collection, and collection of art etc. He was also afflicted with Parkinson's. He was able to manage for several years but was getting progressively worse. He was very fond of driving, gave it up voluntarily. His condition deteriorated and passed away in 2014. That is when I got involved with our local Chapter of Parkinson's organization.
In the very recent past I lost a very dear friend who was my first family in US. She was a High risk obstetrician in Buffalo. She was not only a wonderful caring physician but delivered many children and their children as well. One couldn't go anywhere without some one recognizing her with love. She also suffered Parkinson's. She worked very hard to keep herself active with exercises and medications. Medications are, still, very hard to adjust the dosages.
Last week, in India I lost another close relative to the disease. This also affected two of my very favorite uncles as well. I am sure we all know some one with this disease.
All of you who have supported my walk in the past for the Parkinson's Chapter locally, I request you to support me this year as well. I realize the current Covid situation has made things difficult , I request you to donate for this cause. Please walk (if we are able to do it). Please bring your family and friends as well. Join my team.
Thank you very much
