I created a tribute page for the Parkinson's Foundation in honor of my grandma who has had Parkinson's Disease for over a decade.
With the support of myself and Joan's loved ones, we can help the foundation's mission to make life better for people with Parkinson’s. This cause is important to myself and many other's who are globally diagnosed. I have watched my grandma go through Parkinson's Disease as I have grown up. My grandmother is one of the most selfless people I know and as she's nearing the end of her battle with Parkinson's Disease, I want to give back to her after everything she's done for myself and my family.
I'm running a half marathon at the end of May, sponsored by Ability Rehab Specialists where I'm a physical therapist aide there, and I wanted to run for a cause. My grandma is my cause. I'm hoping by my half marathon date, I can reach my goal of $750. Even if all you have is $1, the thought means a lot to me. So thank you in advance.
Clicking on the website today even means a lot to me. Thank you for showing up here and having thought in reading all of my grandma's story. Joan is in Santa Cruz peacefully living out her both good and bad days with her children (my mom, two uncles, and aunt) taking care of her throughout the year. I feel very proud to be a granddaughter to such a resilient, kind, and hilarious woman like Joan.
Thank you so much for all of your support and helping us raise funds and awareness for Parkinson's disease. It means a lot to myself, my family, and families everywhere who have loved one's diagnosed with PD.
