In 2018, our dad Ron Carrier was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. This was about a year after our mother Pam died from complications related to her early-onset dementia. The past 11 years since mom’s initial diagnosis has been hard for our family, and the difficulties continue with dad’s Parkinson’s. Having two degenerative diseases in our family is awful, but organizations like Alzheimer’s Association and Parkinson’s Foundation help people like us who are going THROUGH it. (Also helpful: wine, therapy, crying, cats, dogs, etc.)
It’s been about 6 years since we’ve done a fundraiser, but with today (April 11) being World Parkinson’s Day, it felt appropriate to try again. Everyone in our lives has been so generous in the past with our Alzheimer’s Association fundraisers, and we would love that to continue to our Parkinson’s fundraiser. With your support we can help the foundation's mission to make life better for people with Parkinson’s.
Thank you so much for all of your support and helping us raise funds and awareness for Parkinson's disease. Thank you most of all for everyone in our lives who has helped to give us the greatest gift of all - time with our dad. We appreciate everyone who loves and cares for our dad - we couldn’t do this without you. ❤
