Rainforest Alliance engages in cause marketing relationships that provide
financial support for the organization.
With rare exceptions, cause marketing promotions benefiting the
Rainforest Alliance are structured as follows:
minimum donation of $40,000 or more for total products sold in a national
campaign. Guaranteed minimum donation of
$100,000 or more for total products sold in an international campaign, i.e.
more than one country. The minimum
donation will vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to: duration of the campaign, volume of sales, physical
location of the campaign (number of countries), marketing plan and visibility
of the Rainforest Alliance name and/or marks.
Compliance with Cause
Marketing Regulations and Applicable Laws
Rainforest Alliance requires that all cause marketing relationships enter into
a mutually agreed upon contract in advance of any promotion.
Rainforest Alliance recognizes that all cause marketing relationships that
benefit the organization are subject to regulations set forth by the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org/us/charity-standards)
as well as commercial co-venturer (CCV) laws throughout the United States and
abroad. It is the responsibility of the businesses
with whom we engage in a cause marketing relationship to comply with all
applicable state commercial co-venture laws or the equivalent of these laws
outside the United States.
set forth by commercial co-venture regulations, the Rainforest Alliance
requires full disclosure to the consumer regarding the parameters of the cause
marketing relationship and donation being made to the organization. The Rainforest Alliance will provide
businesses with whom we have a cause marketing relationship clear, unambiguous
language describing the promotion and the donation.
