Around the time Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center (SARRC) was founded, the incidence of an autism diagnosis was 1 in 500; today it is 1 in 36.

Brodie received the diagnosis in Fall of 2021 and received early intervention from SARRC Community Preschool. Brodie started TK at St Theresa Catholic School with SARRC support for the 2023-2024 school year, and has transitioned and joined his sisters at St Francis Xavier for kindergarten. We are happy to report that his first week went great, and his teacher shared that Brodie is respectful and a rule follower! Chris and I are grateful for SARRC and want to raise funds for services that are so important to us in our community. 

This year, I am participating in YES Day for Autism to raise critical autism funding not only for SARRC but for other nonprofit autism organizations throughout the state as well. Importantly, all dollars raised will be kept in Arizona for Arizona. 

YES Day for Autism is as much about saying “YES” to autism awareness, support and inclusion as it is to saying “YES” to statewide collaboration! Thank you for considering saying “YES!”
