Help Me Say YES to Autism!
Rates of Autism just keep increasing.
I started working in autism research about (gulp) 30 years ago. Population rates were estimated at 1 in 2500, and now they are 1 in 34. We don't fully understand the reasons for the increase, but we do know there are a lot of people with autism are in our community. We need to help them reach their full individualized potential.
By supporting YES Day you will be supporting research and services that improve the landscape for autistic people. You'll be supporting early education resources for parents who have concerns about their child or for those whose child was just diagnosed with autism. And, you'll be supporting us while we help people with autism build critical skills. Autism isn't going anywhere. We need to be better at accepting and providing support to people of all ages.
YES Day for Autism reminds us all to say YES to opportunities to weave people with autism into the fabric of our community, not only on YES Day, but every day going forward. SARRC and all organizations play a critical role in helping people with autism realize their full, individualized potential. Every dollar raised will help Arizona become the most autism-friendly state and create a model for other states to follow!
