Welcome to My Personal Yes Day Page
Around the time Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center (SARRC) was founded, the incidence of an autism diagnosis was 1 in 500; today it is 1 in 44.
I first found SARRC in 2002, when my daughter was diagnosed with ASD at age 4. I found it to be SUCH an amazing resource - filled with caring and dedicated people - so much so that I went to work there full time. Years later, my daughter has grown up and having completed her AA degree, continues classes toward a Bachelor's degree, working a rewarding job and enjoying time with her sisters, family and friends.
The time that we spent with SARRC and the community of families in similar situations brought hope and camaraderie. I think that the sharing of stories and experiences helps everyone navigate life.
Best,
Wade Newhouse
