Welcome to Team Godzilla!
Our family’s autism journey began in 2018 when our son was diagnosed at the age of 5. At first, we were like a deer in headlights and it was extremely overwhelming to absorb all the information about services, therapies, etc.
Fortunately, we discovered an incredible organization called the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC) who helped us navigate. You can learn more about our family’s journey here.
My husband, Matt and I are so grateful to SARRC that I am now a parent volunteer and serve on the Committee for their annual YES Day Walk for Autism event. This year’s event will be held on Sunday, October 27th, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Tempe Beach Park and will include:
· A one-mile walk kick-off at 9:30 AM
· A robust autism resource fair
· A kid zone with family-friendly activities
· Live entertainment and performers
· A pumpkin patch, food trucks, and much more!
Our team (Team Godzilla) is saying YES to raising awareness and funds for children, teens, and adults with autism! Last year we raised $1,780 and we are driven by a desire to create more supportive & inclusive communities. We are proud to join SARRC again this year by saying “yes” to:
· Listening to and understanding people with autism.
· Early screening, diagnosis, and access to effective services.
· High-quality education and healthcare.
· Training for first responders.
· Supporting employment opportunities for adults with autism.
· Innovative housing solutions.
· Building more supportive, inclusive communities across Arizona.
And when you say YES to joining our fundraising team or donating to Team Godzilla, you are helping us get one step closer to achieving these goals! We hope you'll consider supporting us. Thanks for visiting our team page!
