Jr's Swim School
Jr's Swim School is an adaptive swim program that specializes in teaching individuals with Autism water safety skills. Our program promotes water safety by incorporating motor planning, sensory integration, balance, strength and coordination. Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death in children with autism, which is why we strive to provide classes and resources to families that encourage water safety. It was easy for us to partner up with SARRC and say YES to joining their event because we share the goal of creating an inclusive community with equal opportunity.
Around the time Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center (SARRC) was founded, the incidence of an autism diagnosis was 1 in 500; today it is 1 in 54.
