Many of us in the brain tumor community have disabiities that are not immediately apparent; we have invisible disabilities. We suffer from fatigue, cognitive dysfunction, chronic pain, anxiety, seizures, aphasia, and so much more. Not only are we dealing with a brain tumor diagnosis, we are also dealing with our invisible disabilities associated with the diagnosis.
We are frustrated when family, friends, and sometimes our medical team, don't recognize, understand, or validate our invisible disability. We need your support to help increase awareness and understanding of our diagnosis.
I'm participating in Race For Research 2024 because I need to educate people not only about the surgical, clinical, physical facets of our diagnosis, but educate others about the invisible elements of my brain tumor diagnosis. The Southeasteren Brain Tumor Foundation's brain tumor research grants support various types and levels of research. This funding cannot occur without our help.
Won't you help me raise funds for much needed brain tumor research? No donation is too small, and every dollar counts. I hope you'll join me on race day, Saturday, September 21, 2024; my friend Amy and I wil be looking for you at the Finish Line. This is a 5K/1K walk run event but I, for one, won't be doing any running :-)
By joining my team, or making a donation, or doing both, you'll help improve the quality life for so many people in the brain tumor community.
Together let's raise our voices in HOPE for a brighter future!
Thanks -
