I'm Farnaz Arabshahi; a palliative care nurse at Emory John's Creek Hospital in Johns Creek, GA.
For the past thirteen years I've had the distinct privilege of facilitating our Adult brain tumor patient & caregiver support group. We meet bi-weekly via the Zoom platform every-other Thursday afternoon. The virtual meeting provides an opportunity to connect with others, to share stories, to provide support for each other, and to increase our knowledge about life with a brain tumor/brain cancer.
Race for Research, is an annual fundraising event which provides an opportunity for us to meet F2F. The race occurs at Atlantic Station - near downtown Atlanta. GA. It's a 5K run/walk, 1K fun-run/walk and a fundraising event that raises money to support brain tumor research. If you've not participated before, there's no time like the present.
Your participation in the event, and donations toward the event, enable support, hope and courage for members of the brain tumor community at large.
Proceeds from the event enable the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation to provide hope for patients in various ways; namely:
- thru acts of kindness to current patients undergoing treatment
- funding of critical brain tumor research
- awarding scholarships to those impacted by a brain tumor diagnosis
- hosting a variety of support groups for patients and caregivers
PLEASE KNOW that your participation and/or donation will have a positive impact on the life of a brain tumor patient.
The Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation is recognized as as a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization and as a public charity. Donations to the SBTF are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
