Gray Matters
Hello Family and Friends,
As many of you know, Team Gray Matters was formed in honor & memory of a wonderful woman, Dee Greenwell. Dee was a friend, colleague, spouse, sibling, mother, and so much more. She left this world much too soon but remains present in our everyday lives and especially during Race for Research.
As many of you are also aware, Stephen, her husband, and my father passed just weeks after our last Race for Research event. Battling his own illness did nothing to dampen his need and desire to attend that race and was one of his most heartfelt and joyful moments. Surrounded by friends and family, all coming together to celebrate the memory of Dee and support the research for a cure that has come to mean so much to us all.
Through your support as a registrant and/or as a donor, Team Gray Matters has to date raised $76,900 in support of brain tumor research. The average SBTF brain tumor research grant award is in the amount of $50K. That said, we've raised enough money to fund an SBTF brain tumor research project. Dee and Stephen would be so proud of us all for doing this in her memory and her honor.
It is our hope that you plan to join us again this year. Your support will continue to have a positive impact on the life of a brain tumor patient because it generates awareness about this disease and helps to fund much needed brain tumor research.
